- Apply once per cycle, they minimize “false positives” due to a product design that rubs off over time
- Simple to use: Clean the application area with the cloth provided in the pack, remove dirt & dust with a rubber brush
- Warm the heat detector to 38c just before application and apply to prepared area pressing down firmly. It is best applied dry not when raining
- As mounting activities occur, the silver rub-off coating of the patch will be revealed, 50% rub off indicates standing heat
- Detailed instruction for using heat detectors comes on the back of every packet

Product Description - all you need to know!
Estrotect cow heat detectors help determine when cows are ready to be bred. Economical, simple-to-use, highly effective bovine heat detection aid features "scratch-off" technology for superior results in identifying standing heat.
Silver "scratch" surface is removed via friction each time a cow or heifer is mounted, helping minimize false positives. When more of the fluorescent indicator is visible than the silver surface, the closer the cow or heifer is to standing heat.
Just apply once during breeding cycle. Works 24 hours a day throughout the 21-day heat cycle. When applied correctly, should stay on for up to 8 weeks.
Identify When Cattle are in Optimal Estrus
When the Breeding Indicator is more than 50% rubbed off, it means the cow is in optimal estrus intensity and it’s time to breed. Research has proven that cattle express higher estrus intensity, and therefore, confirmed pregnancies are three times more likely when the patch is more than 50% rubbed off.
Indicate Pregnancy
Breeding Indicators offer a simple and accurate method of pregnancy detection in cattle. If the patches show no signs of estrus activity following breeding, the cows or heifers can be assumed pregnant.
Monitor Estrus at a Glance
The fluorescent colours of the Breeding Indicators make it easy to pinpoint where each animal is in their cycle — allowing for optimal estrus detection in cattle without someone being present when the mounting activity occurs.
Identify Embryonic Loss
ESTROTECT™ Breeding Indicators can help identify embryonic loss by placing a patch on a cow or heifer after they have been confirmed pregnant. If the Breeding Indicator shows any signs of activity, it indicates she went back into heat and is no longer pregnant.
